The program has been created for anyone who has experienced the loss of their baby or babies later in pregnancy, during labour or birth or shortly after birth.

This program offers a compassionate space in which to explore what you are going through, how your experience has impacted your life, and what you might need to keep going.

You'll receive access to the online monthly workshop space, as well as the community where you can discuss the topics and connect with others.

Because our hearts can be so tender when we are dealing with these devastating losses, you can choose which community you wish to join - there is a group for people who do have living children and one for those who do not.

Each week you will receive self care worksheets, journal prompts and guided activities that support you as you explore how you are doing, what is most helpful (and what is not).

The content has been created to support a private, nurturing, empathetic and no-pressure experience.

You can work through the material whenever you have time, at your own pace. Come back and step away as often as you need to.

With each new topic we go through the content for three weeks and then take a break for a week to rest and let everything settle.

There are twelve monthly modules, so you can choose to go through the entire program for a full year of support, or to just check out one or two modules and see how it works for you.

You are always welcome to stay for as long or as short a time as you like.

What is included?

An overview of the unique experiences of baby loss, including some of the physical and emotional effects that you might experience and how to access support for yourself (even if it has been years since your loss).  

Support as you begin to figure out how to 'do' this thing called grief and living with loss, and encouragement as you feel your way through, learning what works for you.

Space to remember and honour your beloved child or children and everything you have been through and are going through, while exploring how to be present with the sacred space in your heart where all that love resides.

Weekly exercises, worksheets and prompts to explore your own ways of coping, your relationships, feelings and emotions, your story and where you are at now, and - when you are ready - the direction that you might like for your life to take over time.

Encouragement to include self-compassion and mindfulness in your life, and a whole lot of self-care ideas and suggestions.

An exploration of your own circles of support and suggestions on ways to create and access community, looking at why some peoples' reactions are not what you may have expected and how to cope with that.

Ways of figuring out what you might need in terms of support and connection, and how this might be different from your 'before-loss' life.

Throughout the program you will be supported to explore what is and isn't working for you, creating a toolbox that you that you will continue to add to, to help with the harder days. 

Where can I connect with the community?

The community site is held in a private and moderated group space, allowing you to take a break from your social media feeds. Here you can introduce yourself, check in, discuss the program content and how you are doing or ask questions. 

In the group you have the option of participating under a different name if you would like to remain anonymous, and you can join in on discussions or just read through the material at your own pace. 

The community groups are a part of the main Mothering Your Heart community but with the smaller groups you have the privacy of sharing similar experiences without feeling overwhelmed. You also have the option of joining a group where other members do not have living children, if you are dealing with childlessness after loss and this is a sensitive topic for you.

Participation is always optional, depending on how you are feeling and how much interaction you are up to. 

You can go through the program without joining the community space and will still receive the same content for a private and more personal experience if that is your preference, and you can change your mind at any time.

I would like to join, what happens now?

  • First, give yourself a moment to pause and take a deep breath - this program is meant to support you to offer a place to rest. Give yourself a hug if you like, to acknowledge all that you have been through and the reasons you are here. 
  • You can start right away, whenever you feel ready.
  • You'll receive your welcome message by email, with instructions on how to access the program site, your worksheets and the community group of your choice
  • If you decide to participate in the community you can introduce yourself anytime or choose to explore a little first
  • With each module you will receive new material every week for three weeks then pause for a week before the next module is released
  • You can go through at your own pace and can download the guides if you prefer to work offline at a later time
  • All that you need to go through the program is a computer or your phone, and if you like to write or create you can choose to use a journal or other art materials
  • The program runs for up to a full year but has been set up so that you can stop anytime (each of the 12 monthly topics is a complete module on its own)
  • As a program member you receive all the new Mothering Your Heart resources such as the seasonal workshops as soon as they are released
  • You can ask questions directly either privately by email or through the FB group
